Today, we welcome back three more hostages—Ohad Ben Ami(56), Eliyahu Sharabi (54) and Or Levy (34)—each of whom endured 491 days of captivity and unimaginable hardships are finally at home with their families, after 16 months of captivity.
From the moment Hamas launched its barbaric attack on October 7th, we have remained committed to one mission—bringing every hostage home.
Ohad Ben Ami (56), Israeli-German citizen
Ohad was abducted together with his wife, Raz Ben Ami on October 7th from Kibbutz Be’eri, Ohad was shot and injured, but managed to endure and survive close to 500 days in Hamas’ cruel captivity. His family rejoiced as they welcomed him back.
Eliyahu Sharabi (54),
Eliyahu was abducted from his home in Kibbutz Be’eri, unaware that his wife and two daughters, who held dual Israeli-British citizenship, had been brutally murdered by Hamas terrorists on that terrible day. For nearly 500 days in captivity, Eliyahu held onto the hope of reuniting with his family—only to return to a devastating reality.
Or Levy (34)
Or Levy, from Givatayim, was abducted from the Nova Music Festival, where he had arrived while his wife Einav, who was brutally murdered by Hamas terrorists. Or is coming back after hundreds of days, hundreds of days in which his little son, only 3 years old, has had to go through the death of his mother and learn to live without his father.
The harrowing images from yesterday's hostage release shows a bleak reality—revealing the dire conditions of the male hostages, serve as undeniable proof of Hamas' brutality and speaks volumes about their inhumane treatment.
The returned hostages have come back to a changed reality—a heartbreaking new reality. As they begin their long journey of recovery and mourn those they lost, we will stand by them every step of the way.
As always I salute and embrace the returning hostages and their families.
Once again I'd like to reiterate that each joyful reunion is a testament to the bravery of our soldiers—the fallen heroes who gave everything as well as the soldiers who continue to fight. Their sacrifices are one of the reasons these moments exist.
We cannot and will not forget for a moment, the 76 hostages that remain in Hamas captivity.
Our mission is not over until every single hostage comes home.
Until they’re all back,
LTC Nadav Shoshani
You must go back and destroy them to the last
These monsters don't deserve to live.
