Transparency in Humanitarian Aid Delivery is Long Over Due
Over the past two years, Israel has undertaken a humanitarian effort unprecedented in its scope, facilitating the delivery and distribution of humanitarian aid to Gazan civilians in need, all while Hamas does its absolute best to steal that same aid and hoard it for its own terrorist purposes.
Since the recent ceasefire agreement, this effort has expanded even further. 4,200 trucks continue entering the Gaza Strip every week via the UN, donor countries, the private sector, and over 20 international organizations. 23 international NGOs - including organizations from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and France - operate in the Gaza Strip alongside many international medical organizations. Additionally, new field hospitals and medical clinics are being established and medical equipment and medicines continue to enter the Gaza Strip at large scale in cooperation with the international community.
All this isn’t to say that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is ideal, far from it. Hamas continues their abuse of humanitarian aid, including aid diversion for terror purposes and the embedding of their operatives inside aid organisations. Additionally, while the quantity of aid entering the Gaza Strip is impressive, Israel encourages the UN aid agencies to increase the scope of aid deliveries even further, all we ask is that those agencies cooperate with us to counter the threat of the aid’s diversion and exploitation by Hamas.
In pursuit of that goal, Israel has updated its registration process for international aid organizations based on clear professional and security criteria designed to protect the integrity of humanitarian operations and prevent diversion of aid to Hamas.
The new requirement? Aid organizations need to simply supply a list of their employees, allowing Israel to screen them for potential ties to terrorist organizations.
Why does Israel insist on this? Here’s just two examples of “humanitarian aid workers” engaging in terrorist activities.
This UNRWA employee took part in the brutal massacre on October 7th, abducting a dead body to be held hostage in the Gaza Strip.
This MSF employee doubled as a prominent terrorist in the PIJ terrorist organization developing and advancing their rocket array for 15 years.
This employee registration process is a standard security measure. It’s a common sense requirement that many organizations, those responsible for the overwhelming majority of humanitarian aid deliveries, have already abided by.
A number of aid organizations have refused to abide by the new registration requirement. This is after ten whole months of multiple warnings and requests issued by COGAT to register. What is important to note – is that these organizations account for only a combined 1% of aid distributions throughout the war and have only distributed aid during previous ceasefires.
Why don’t these organizations simply complete the standard registration process like everyone else? Why avoid sharing basic staff lists required for security clearance? That remains unclear.
What is clear is this: humanitarian aid continues to flow at scale. But some prefer to frame a narrative that suggests otherwise.
What we are seeing now is not a humanitarian blockade.
We are seeing a refusal — by a very small number of organizations — to accept basic safeguards designed to ensure that humanitarian aid remains humanitarian.
So what is behind the narrative claiming Israel is ‘blocking humanitarian aid’?
So-called “human rights activists” began a coordinated media campaign portraying this routine registration process as a sinister Israeli attempt to strangle the supply of aid into Gaza.
For them, the real facts on the ground don’t matter here.
Like many other false narratives in this war, it’s not meant to inform you. It’s not even meant to help the people of Gaza, who would rather not have Hamas stealing and weaponising aid.
Pressuring Israel to abandon its new registration requirement helps no one except Hamas. Knowing this, ask yourself, why do these aid organizations and their many “activist” supporters continue pushing this false media campaign on Hamas’ behalf?
Israel will continue to facilitate aid at scale. We will continue to work with those who choose professionalism over politics.
On the first day of 2026, we commit ourselves to continue doing what responsible nations do in times of conflict: upholding international law, and ensuring that terrorists do not exploit humanitarian systems and divert aid meant for the civilians who truly need it.

Keep up the great work IDF, its so frustrating to see the woeful MSM lying and being believed by so many western nations I'm ashamed of them all.
Am Yisrael Chai.
🇮🇱 Shalom.
I used to admire Doctors Without Borders for the work in places where no one else went, and I supported them financially for many years. But then they adopted political agendas and muddled up helping people with campaigning. I’ve stopped giving them money quite some time ago for that very reason. They don’t deserve to be treated as a humanitarian NGO any more.
