Bulldoze Gaza into the Med, Create a wharf protected harbor and more land. A park full of trees. Never ever let one Palestinian step foot there again. They chose war, they lost. Now they are refugees, no tears for them.

This morning i noticed an article on the reuters news brief newsletter

The newsletter wrote: "Hello. Israeli strikes kill hundreds in Gaza, threatening a ceasefire with Hamas,....."

(The

Leading to this page, titled "Israeli strikes kill over 400 in Gaza, ceasefire on brink" (EDIT, corrected to match the origonal title, copied from the title that was changed after my comment to reuters)

https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israeli-military-conducts-strikes-hamas-targets-gaza-army-says-2025-03-18/

In the article later mentioned that those figures in the title came from the gaza health ministry.

I wrote to reuters pointing out possible framing, clickbait and misleading wording. I shortly received a reply that the matter is being reviewed.

A little later there apparently has been an edited .. the title too i notice. "Israeli strikes kill over 400 in Gaza, say Palestinians, ceasefire on brink" ....

Weather intentional or not, its a prime example how wording on media outlets matter to spin perspectives.

I think it matters a lot to point out such circumstances to editorial desks, they might not act upon information but later it may plays a role specially if there is active intend for misinformation, framing etc or simply poor journalistic work.

For most "bucketshop" outlets i wouldn't even be surprised anymore.

Its a somewhat a common theme that some authors try to hide the fact, that such figures specially when terrorists are not mentioned are from questionable sources.

Obscuring the sources by vague formulations or entirely from titles and in articles as one of those common themes so if a paper like reuters does it by giving some individuals a free pass i feel its worth to raise attention.

Such articles later get quoted by third parties and so opinion is formed and framed ... im not ok with that.

It's not just Reuters, they all do it. My own take on the BBC below:

EDIT:

Upon posting this i didn't notice initially that the title was edited after my mail to the edit desk.

Initially there was no mention for the source of information.

As pointed out there's a huge difference how a title can influence perception...

I assume its a big part of the war for hamas affiliates and likeminded to use all means to influence public perception by any means.

The average readers that have been consuming this all too common biased reporting on mainstream media won't notice the difference and that's sad. Unfortunately a majority of mankind seems to be deaf and blind to realiable facts. We know the root causes.

Thank you for acting.

LTC Shoshani… Thank you for your update. Take the LAND back - it should never have been used to barter for peace. The mistakes of the past (1 Samuel 15) need to stop being repeated. Blessings on all the soldiers and especially on the new commanders!!! It is NOT Gaza - it IS ISRA’EL!!!

"Security is not given; it is ensured."

Very true. I wish my fellow Canadians could understand this basic principle plus, of course, all those deluded Europeans.

The only language Hamas understand is force . There is no diplomacy with these barbarians . It’s in their DNA to kill anyone Jewish/ Christian and even the wrong type of Muslim .
