Thank you for taking the time to share important information with us.
Thank you all for applying humanitarian approaches while in war. Israel is doing an amazing job balancing both. Very admirable.
Bless your heart. Surely, there is a cook who could/should provide a Lt Colonel breakfast! Goodness! You have to command military operations AND cook!!!!!!! Even U.S.A. cowboys on a range has a cook go on a trail drive with them! 😂
My running group would love your breakfast! I will have to try the avocado toast WITH a fried egg. Looks perfect. I prefer though to have Southern style baked beans and turkey smoked sausage (which I had for dinner).
Its becoming very obvious that hamas is acting like a cartel draining the gaza population of prosperity opportunities. There's something severely wrong - why would citizens of gaza want a war when they could have growth and prosperity ...
While the declaration hamas being a cartel might be too lightly there are many parallels to me. Escobar held Columbia hostage for own objectives and gains to manifest a monopoly and so does hamas. A question should be is it just hate or is money a motivation too - is this war and conflict by hamas a business / economy?
The point is, they are doing a lot of things that simply don't make sense if they would advocate for gaza prosperity (obviously not) ... somewhat hamas is holding gaza hostage as a whole and act as oppressor and cartel who took over a country.
Hope the rest of the people held hostage in gaza come home soon, what a nightmare this must be ...
While their leaders speak in a secular tongue when speaking in English or to a diverse audience, HAMAS as a movement, which has links to the Muslim Brotherhood, is rooted in the notion that all lands that were Islamic in the past should be Islamic forever (including Spain). The celebration of martyrhood, the God is Great shouting, the HAMAS covenant. It is not difficult to understand what is going on here when you recognize that they are wedded to Islamist ideology.
hamas is actively weakening the very people they claim to stand for. Apart from the immorality of their actions there is a sense that its a business for them - just like a cartel where the motivation is money and influence to gain more money. Read up about the columbian cocaine cartel of escobar - escobar intended to run for presidency, probably with the sole goal to manifest the business. Imprint of the book "killing pablo by mark bowden" 'Escobar's criminal empire held a nation of thirty million hostage in a reign of terror that would only end with his death'
Hammas benefit from oversight of a people with refugee status (UN Aid) and have been living in relative luxury in Gaza. There are some incredible properties and resorts - not the ghettos or slums that the media would have you believe. The only issue is they have been indoctrinating their young people and population, so have about 75% support. The whole brainwashing architecture of hatred and murder / conquer being a key focus of life would need to be dismantled too
Again, looking at columbia excobar - how many young people became victims of this business because they saw what the leaders can get and had little or nothing to lose or lack of perspectives.
Or nazi germany, where the indoctrination was deeply rooted in the education system. There are probably more examples.
What you wrote reminds me of this bird meme where birds sit on a christmas tree like ladder, the only bird free off sh** is the one on top .. he shits on the 2 below, they shit on the 4 below and these 4 not only get it from the 2 above but also the one on top ... and so it goes on ...
The difficult thing here might be that those where the indoctrination works become fanatic (and live in a sense that this becomes or is normal) and the others have to fear consequences if dissent ... so a classic group dynamic builds, maybe.
Have to reread the origins of political order by Francis Fukuyama possibly, somehow im reminded here.
Like the bird / tree metaphor! That sums up the structure. I think faith plays a huge part to, giving purpose, a mission and sense of belonging. So there are financial motivations and group inclusion, but also sense of a holy quest - powerful motivators. Escobar had the family / belonging & cash motivators but no real higher ideology.
After reading the emerging testimonies I really am glad I’m not in charge of Israel’s nukes! Just too awful. And it is admirable that consideration / measured planning is behind decisions that will one day enable a future state of peace and safety.
Israel can give back that land if it would not then be utilized to continue launching attacks against Israel. After the 1967 war ended Israel promptly offered to return land it captured in exchange for a peace agreement. All of the previous property owners said no at that time. Five subsequent attempts to negotiate an agreement with Arafat and most recently with Abbas failed. Progress was being made recently with the Abraham Accords, reverting to negotiating with the other countries in the region, bypassing Abbas. HAMAS, among others, considers all of the land “from the river to the sea” to be Islamic land and rejects peace agreements that accepts Israel as a non-Islamic country. They oppose peace agreements between any countries and Israel that accept Israel as a permanent country in the region, including the recent bi-national agreements that are known as the Abraham Accords. Any returned land would be utilized by HAMAS to prepare for attacks and wars against Israel to further their goal of defeating Israel, which is what they have been doing from Gaza, which is why the fighting has resumed.
Col,
Thanks much for your ongoing communication and insight.
I’d be very interested in hearing more about the IDF Medical Corp, and its role in this war against Hamas.
Please, stay safe, stay strong and stay resolute!

Continuing to pray for Israel and IDF.
You were doing so well until you topped the avocado on toast with a fried egg.
Thank you as always.
I have noticed a disturbing lack of potato scones, black pudding and haggis in your fry up ;)
Don't let Hamas rest ...keep banging them ..sending love and regards from cape town
Tanks for sharing

*Not just ghettos and slums I should say
That's the insanity.

Nice. Egg has been flipped 👌
